In Britney's defence

For those who have not been following the story of Britney Spears, I'll give you the shortened version.

Britney Spears, who was a presenter on Mickey Mouse club as a kid, shot to stardom at the tender age of 17 with her smash hits "One more time" and "Sometimes". With the pressure that comes with a sexy appearance, great music and fame also came media speculation and stories made up by jealous peers and dissed papparazzi.

After marrying Kevin Federline, there was a drastic decline in Brit's appearance and public image. It's almost like she couldn't care anymore. Having 2 babies in a short time took it's toll on her previously enviable body - something which was hugely criticized in every form of media.

It's only natural that one's body would take strain when having children and obviously her career would take a backseat for a while. The only difference between her and you is that she can afford it!

Her public breakdown and pantyless partying was splashed all over the news. I have seen the video in which she alledgedly dropped Sean Preston on his head and I can assure you that I've seen 'normal' mothers do worse things than that to their kids - intentionally.

I can assure you, if I were in her shoes I'd do more than just take drugs and forget to put on panties when I go out...

After her latest stint in rehab and divorce, K-Fed and Brit's mother have managed to take custody of the two boys away from Britney.

Britains Daily Mail reports: A judge has granted Britney Spears supervised visitation rights to her two sons after she lost custody of them to their father, Kevin Federline. K-Fed attended a three hour private hearing to make the temporary arrangement, but his famous ex was a no-show. Court officer Allan Parachini said, “Britney's access to her kids works out to about every other day. The visits will not necessarily occur back-to-back." The troubled singer’s mother was said to be concerned that her daughter could harm herself after losing custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James, but Brit’s friend Sam Lufti told reporters Brit was "very optimistic" about getting her boys back. Britney lost custody because she couldn’t provide proof of having a valid California driver’s license and missed a drug test. She has now, finally, applied for and been issued with a temporary license from the DMV.

Since when is a drivers license a pre-requisite for having children?

If Britney has another (worse) breakdown than the hair shaving incident or even commits suicide, it will all be her mother and K-Fed's fault.

Britney is a young, confused girl and I can empathise with that. She needs support and the media should back off. Bloggers such as Egotastic should stop spreading vicious, horrible rumours.

None of us know what goes on in her home and in her heart and we should not comment unless we've lived her life with all that it encompasses.
